"Yeah, I-wait, what?" Yosuke was three steps through a nod of agreement before doing a quick doubletake. What? Him? Lead the way? Maybe he was assuming a lot, but the whole disappearing act Joel managed before gave Yosuke the impression he knew a thing or two about getting by in strange, dangerous environments. The sort of guy who, y'know, would not entrust their wandering to him, even if he wanted it.
But here they were. The corners of Yosuke's mouth twitched into what would've been a nervous smile, if it ever stopped looking like a grimace.
"--Right. Got it. Uh. Follow me, I guess."
He looked out ahead into the darkness. Thanks to being at a dead sprint those five minutes prior to bumping into Joel, Yosuke's sense of direction was shot. He went through an elaborate process of picking a path, to the point of turning around and miming running through, trying to see if his muscles remembered any better than his brain. In the end, he had nothing, but Joel didn't need to know that.

"Uh... this way. C'mon."
